July 4 - 4th of July Parade in Historic Downtown Franklin 9:30 am until 1 pm. Parade begins at 10:00 am. Contact Contact June Hernandez at 828-524-9258.

July 18 & 19 - 5th Annual Franklin Folk Festival - A celebration of Appalachian heritage in Downtown Franklin. Over 40 living exhibits of authentic mountain living, food, entertainment and more. Call 828-369-7411 for detials. Sponsored by Macon County Folk Heritage Association.

DIRECTIONS TO FRANKLIN, NC


  • From Asheville - Take I-40 West to Exit 27 (23 South/74 West). Follow to Exit 81 (U.S. 441/23 South). Approximately 65 miles.

  • From Atlanta - Follow I-85 North to I-985. Left on I-985 which becomes 23/365 North. 23/365 becomes 23/441 North. Follow to Franklin. pproximately 125 miles.

  • From Knoxville, TN -: I-40 East to Exit 20 (Hwy 276 South). Stay on 276 until reaching 23/74 South. Follow to Exit 81 (U.S. 441/23 South). Approximately 130 miles.
